Lead Pastor

I am a native of Durham, NC and a graduate of Northern Durham High School. I am married to Pam and between us we have four children and four grandchildren. I am always glad to share pictures!

My primary duties at Ridgecrest include guiding the overall direction and ministry of the church, directing the church ministry staff, and serving as ministry resource with the Deacons, Prayer Ministry Team and the Connect-Serve Team.

I am a graduate of UNC-CH (BA), Southeastern Seminary (MDiv) and Luther Rice Seminary (DMin). I have been involved in church ministry since 1984, serving in staff ministry with youth, children, education and evangelism. For 14 years I was lead pastor of Woodlawn Baptist in Lowell, NC and have been at Ridgecrest since 2007.

In my spare time I love spending time with family, working around the house, pulling for the Tar Heels and traveling to the beach. Pam and I love hosting groups from the church at our home.

In 1978, as a young teenager, I trusted Jesus as my savior after being invited by a friend to attend youth activities at Guess Road Baptist here in Durham. My life has never been the same! I am blessed to be able to work full time helping others find the peace and joy that I have found by connecting to Jesus!
