Rodney and Gail Hicks

I have been at RBC since 2001 and a part of the RBC Staff Ministry Team since 2011. My primary duties are leading the overall direction of our ministry to our Sr. Adults, directing our church wide response to the needs of our church families in celebration and crisis through pastoral care and assisting the ministerial team in support of the objectives/direction of the church.

I am a Durham native, graduate of Northern High School, N.C. State University (BS) and Wake Forest University (MBA). My wife Gail (of 50+ years) and I have been blessed with one son and two grandsons. My first career was in telecommunications (engineering, sales and capital planning).

In my spare time I love supporting our family, the beach, golf and gardening. In addition, my wife and I have a passion for missions and have spent a large part of our adult lives serving both locally and internationally, rejoicing in the grace and joy of sacrifice and service.

In 1959 I received the Lord Jesus as my Savior and Lord of All. Even at an early age I felt different and the guidance of the Lord’s Spirit in my life thus began a long life journey of growth and grace. As a young adult, I became a lay leader in the church and have served in many lay capacities, culminating in the “God calling” to my place of service today.
